Memorial Day Figure 8-50 Ride
Looking for a ride this Memorial Day? Looking for a new route to discover more of the Driftless Region? The Memorial Day Figure 8 may be the ride for you. The DRBC has put together a nice figure 8 route that has both moderate and more challenging sections. This is a non-sponsored, unsupported ride and you ride at your own risk.
Day/Date: Monday, Memorial Day (every May)
Location: Meet at the La Crosse County Lake Neshonic Swarthout Park which is located at State Hwy 16 and State Highway 108, just on the east end of West Salem.
Time: Roll out between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m. DRBC members will be at the park under a tent with more ride maps, cue sheets and more information. The information tent will close at 8:30 so members can do the ride themselves.
Ride Information: Ride is unsupported, no sag wagon or rest stops. There are two choices of routes: Short loop is 25-30 miles and long loop is 50-55 miles. Each loop goes through Mindoro and the Mindoro Farmer’s Coop is open on Memorial Day. The 50 mile ++ goes in a figure eight loop.
BYO refreshments for after or some of us who are doing the 50 miler may stop at Features in West Salem afterward for a cold one.
