Secretary: Brian

Board retreat. We discussed having it and the consensus was to have it. Topics included membership (do we go for a lot of members?) and events. (we later scheduled it)

Speaking of events, Dan is planning a gravel bike ride and planning is far along. He mentioned there may be sponsors and/or donations and minimal expenses. He is not asking for DRBC money now, mainly he wants to use the DRBC as a conduit. He volunteered to be the chair of the events committee.

We then discussed events DRBC could host and/or sponsor. They include (but are not limited to) Labor Day bike rides (e.g. history ride) held more often, Bike Anywhere challenges (e.g. tour da java, bike to parks), a sub 24 hour overnight. We thought maybe we could do a “Bike Soup” type event.

We also discussed vents we could be facilitators for. Examples would include bike rodeos and day rides. We should come up with a check list of items so that we can consistently inform folks who ask us how to do these.

Dan mentioned it has been a while and we should host another Hub event bringing together organizers of bike events (e.g. June Dairy Days) and also include bike shop folks and the ORA. Each could give a 5-minute talk about what they do. He made a motion to have an event with possibly DRBC getting food – details to be determined later. (I’m not sure if there was a motion, but there was agreement to go ahead)

Meeting adjourned at 7:06
