Recently we asked you to attend a series of budget meetings in the city of La Crosse to support the Oak Street bridge project. While we have not found out if our efforts to keep the bridge in the final city budget were successful, it appears that the city is still moving forward with the project presuming that it will be funded.

The City and it’s consultant, Mead and Hunt, will be holding a Public Informational Meeting this Thursday evening, October 21st, at the Harry J. Olson Senior Center located at 1607 North Street on La Crosse’s beautiful North Side. The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. The purpose of the meeting is to obtain public input regarding the Oak Street bridge project and to get the details of the project out to the public.

This is the bridge project that will give greater access to and from the north-side of La Crosse. This project has been in the works for the last decade and has faced one road block after another. We need to show our support for this project by showing up to this meeting and speaking out in its favor. If you live in La Crosse or Onalaska, I would encourage you to attend this meeting. Getting this project completed with provide bicycles and pedestrian greatly expanded options traveling north or south.?
