I thought I saw an advertisement for a couple of rides on Oktoberfest Saturday September 25th.It was not part of the Oktoberfest activities. Oneride was a 100 K and since I'm 62 this year I wanted to try it. Have you heard anything ??

I grew up in La Crosse, riding my bike for fun and later for basic transportation while a poor student in college. I am SO glad to see this group of bike advocates and enthusiasts thriving. I moved early on to Alaska, where I let my cycling languish for about 20 years. Then at about 45 I rediscovered that joy and nothing has kept me back since then except lack of vacation time!

About four years ago, after a family reunion, I rode from Onalaska to Prescott. It was late September but beautiful for the first two days. Only pouring rain and slogging mud on a road mapped as paved kept me from my goal of Minneapolis. Thank goodness my younger brother lives there, and could come fetch me from the restaurant in Prescott! I love that Great River Road, and plan on riding the entire Mississippi the fall of my 60th year, 2011.

Good luck and success in your endeavors folks. I will try to look you up when I get back there again!

I rode this last year and really enjoyed myself. The long route can be challenging if you push the pace.

What a great course! I had a really great ride and you could not have asked for better weather. The course was a perfect mix of climbs, rollers and opportunities to really stretch out your legs. Got to ride with some really great people!

I am aware of only one RIDE OF SILENCE in western Wisconsin. Viroqua, Wisconsin held international event on May 19. The event was part of over 300 annual events held internationally in 2010.

The coalition should try to promote and assist in developing RIDE OF SILENCE in the communities of the Driftless region.

We cannot forget bicyclists who lost their lives!
